I'm always fascinated by retellings of existing stories, especially when the story is told from the perspective of a minor character. Was Penelope as loyal and devoted as she made out to be? Ever since I heard about the Read-A-Myth Challenge, so kindly hosted by JoV and Bina, I have been looking forward to reading Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad. The Penelopiad is part of the Canongate Myth series. Recommend: To those that like interpretations of myth, stories and literature and just plain ole' love some sarcasm and Margaret Atwood. I personally cant find much love for these “add on” stories to classic greek myths.
